Zoathids are one of the most highly sought after and varying corals available to hobbyists around the world. They are collected from a wide range of locations such as Taiwan, Vietnam, Fiji, Australia and Indonesia. Zoas are characterized by the smaller polyp size, colorful skirt, disc and mouth. These radioactive green have a flash of bright green at the center and are surrounded by a ring of blue at the outer edge and a green skirt. They are very hardy and easy to keep corals.
Zoas require good, steady water parameters and moderate flow and lighting conditions. Filtering feeders by nature, they will benefit from trace elements and select target feedings of small food such as plankton, rotifers and brine. Typical grown zoas will range in size from 1/4"-3/8". Zoas grow in a colonial formation and will cover rock, substrate and anything else they can spread to so care should be taken when placing them to allow for future growth.
