Hammer corals, also known as anchors, are named after their hammer/anchor shaped tentacle tips. This piece hosts bright green and purple tips. A member of the euphyilla family, it has sweeping tentacles that inflate during the day. Euphyilla can be an aggressive stinging coral and due to it's expansion and varied movement with flow, it's recommend that each piece be given plenty of room unless placed new others of the same family.

This thin branching variety has longer, tree like branches that will extend up to several inches before sprouting new heads. Hammers come in a variety of color and size. Tentacles and their ends or "dots" can vary in color as well from vivid greens and purples to golds and blues. Hammer corals require moderate light and can be target feed diced meaty foods, however they will do fine in a well feed tank by filtering in good flow.
